Inspiration | Neutral Palette

I'm combating the early arrival of May showers by gathering some outfit inspiration for those sunny days that are sure to some point. Today's inspiration is a simple outfit made up of neutral  tones and great accessories.

I've had my sights set on these GAP high-waist, raw edge denim shorts from the moment I spied them online. I'm crazy into high-waist denim right now and I love it on a pair of cut-offs shorts. Gap has been having some killer sales lately, but you'll only get to take advantage of the major savings if you've signed up to receive their e-mails (go HERE and do it). As for the top, I recently discovered Everlane and I fell in love with their simple, modern, and comfy pieces. This light-weight button down is a must for your wardrobe - wear it alone for Spring and Summer (it would also be cute over a fitted crop top and flirty skirt, sleeves rolled up), layer sweaters and jackets over it during Fall & Winter. A piece for any season. And these Sam Edelman nude pumps are just good, I love a heel with chic details like an ankle strap with a pop of metallic. It gives the simple ensemble a little something extra and dresses it up a bit. Finish things off with a cute panama hat, because hats make everything better and the perfect crossbody bag from J.Crew.

Happy Thursday!

In the Details | Collar, Earrings, Oxfords

April 21, 2014

Top: GOODNIGHT MACAROON similar HERE, HERE / Denim: AEO Similar / Shoes: DOLCE VITA Similar Earrings: BETSY & IYA Similar /Sunglasses: RAY-BAN  49mm Clubmaster / Lipstick: MAC Candy Yum Yum

I love pieces that have great prints, textures, and special details. This outfit while simple, was a great mash-up of all of these things:

Top - I purchased this top from Goodnight Macaroon, a sweet little online gem that has adorable clothing and accessories. I was immediately drawn to the simple button-down silhouette, but the great collar detail is what really drew me in. It definitely made this piece special.

Earrings - If you're local to Portland, you must make a trip to Betsy and Iya's brick and mortar store right off of NW 23rd. If you're not local, head over to their online shop to find the most adorable one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces. I currently own four pairs of B and I drop earrings and they're all I wear. They look fabulous with everything and get so much attention. These 'Love' earrings are a particular favorite.

Shoes - Also seen here, I seriously adore these animal print oxfords (two of my favorite things combined).

Some other fun adds to this outfit - Bright pink lips thanks to Mac's Candy Yum Yum and my retro Ray-ban Clubmasters.

Sunny Days

Top: FOREVER21 similar HERE, HERE / Denim: TARGET similar SAVE, SPLURGE /
Heels: ZARA similar HERE, HERE / Sunglasses: RAY-BAN on sale! / Watch: NIXON / Bracelet: HRH

Thank god the sun made an appearance, I can finally stop complaining about the weather...well at least for today (rain is back in the forecast as early as Wednesday wah-waaaahhh). But seriously it was gorg last week, so gorgeous that I actually stepped out sans sleeves for the first time this year. Nothing like a change in the weather to get you excited about your clothing options.

In other news....I've been fighting the urge to go balls out crazy purchasing warm weather attire - the weather is just too unpredictable right now and I hate having to wait to wear things because it's still too cold out - but man it's hard to refrain (I may or may not have 3-4 online carts filled and on stand-by around the web). I'm enticed daily by cute dresses, shorts, and sandals - complete torture! Thank goodness it's already mid April, which is also pretty scary because what the heck happened to the first part of the year???, Summer will be here before we know it!

Happy Tuesday!
Thanks for dropping by the blog.
